In 1943, conductor Ernst von Dohnányi founded the Symphony Orchestra of the Hungarian Radio and Television. Today, that orchestra is known outside Hungary as the Budapest Symphony Orchestra, but its concerts are still broadcast in Hungary and elsewhere.
