Notes and Editorial Reviews
Normally they are underway around the globe as soloists, in ensemble performance or with their orchestra. It is only at rare moments they we have the opportunity to hear these violinists in their own ensemble. The MD & G was lucky and captured the sonorous sound of their valuable instruments during a spontaneous short visit in Berlin. The Berlin Philharmonic Violins presented splendid arrangements of the Concerti grossi of Antonio Vivaldi as well as his Follia variations. "Autumn" from the Four Seasons rounds out this unusual and just as pleasurable recording.
