TONAR MUSIC is proud to present the release of a new CD, “Bach to Tan Dun” [TONAR 11015] performed by the extraordinary Beijing Guitar Duo. The new CD includes 2 sonatas by Scarlatti, the "Chaconne" by Bach/Busoni, "Sonatina Canonica" by Tedesco, "Valses Poéticos" by Granados, and a new version of Tan Dun’s "Eight Memories in Watercolor," arranged specially for the duo by their mentor Manuel Barrueco.
The Beijing Guitar Duo's first CD on TONAR MUSIC “Maracaípe” received a Latin GRAMMY nomination for the title piece on the recording. Fanfare magazine’s reviewer commented: “Speed? Clarity? Timing? Finesse? Ensemble playing? It turned out the Beijing Guitar Duo had it all.”
