Author of the famous Musico prattico (Bologna, 1673) and father of celebrated Giovanni, Giovanni Maria Bononcini is far too much forgotten nowadays. By this new release, Fuga Libera is proud to pay a tribute both to this great composer and his legacy, and to Jaap Schröder, who belongs with Leonhard, Bijlsma en Bruggen to the great pioneers of authentic performances in the Netherlands. He is here at his best with Read more a remarkable American ensemble, in a warm and harmonious interplay so necessary for the delicate art of trio sonata. An exceptional meeting between musicology and music, Italy and England, history and spontaneity, and generations of ancient music performers ! Read less
