Not what I'd expected: Modernism in Recorder music December 20, 2014 By John Mead (Tacoma, WA) See All My Reviews "When I stumbled across Consortium5, I thought 'Ah! Recorder Consort, more Renaissance or Baroque goodness!' Um, no. Consortium5's cup of tea is Modernism. Not what I expected. Frankly, not what I was looking for; I don't like Modernism. Tangled Pipes has two main sections, the first being original compositions, the latter being remixes. The production values are high, the playing very good, and the instruments have a very nice sound. If you are looking for 'Modern' Recorder music, Consortium5 and Tangled Pipes should be checked out; quite good for the genre. Just, don't expect Renaissance or Baroque Recorder music." Report Abuse
