Another Dimension June 19, 2013 By Brien Chomica (Winnipeg, MB) See All My Reviews "Mr. Earl Wild has not had the benefit of disseminating his brilliant interpretations of diverse musical works within the marketing programs of major distributors. Such is the aesthetic loss to us as the audience. Fortunately, Arkivmusic has distribution for most of the wonderful recordings available from Ivoryclassics.com. -- To the point at hand: Most anybody who is reading this would be cognisant of the Schumann Pft. Quint., but this fantastic and unique performance of this excellent work by a chamber orchestra (dir. Mr. I. Jackson) and Mr. Wild -- live in Cincinnati in March 2000 -- brings the entire piece into a new dimension of experience. It is a wonderful recording. -- Maybe we are not Chamber Music addicts to the extent that Dohnanyi's Quintet (with Pft.) is as familiar to us as Schumann's. But here it is with Earl Wild adding it on to the Schumann and expanding our range of enjoyment and understanding of the genre that is so much a large part of the -- always expanding (like the Universe) -- Romantic Century! -- You shall enjoy this always!"
