Notes & Reviews Back to Top
This album gathers extracts in new concerts directed by the Greek big boss Dimitri Mitropoulos with the head of the Philharmonic society of New York from which he was the musical director, spread out between 1951 and 1953. The interpretation of the 'Nights of summer' was used doubtless as repetition for the official recording carried out by the Columbia firm a few days later. As for the orchestration of the choral of Bach, it was carried out by the leader Eugene Ormandy.
