This 70 CD limited edition presents all of Vladimir Horowitz’s recordings for RCA Red Seal, Columbia Masterworks and Sony Classical plus two complete live recital recordings never before available. Vladimir Horowitz - Complete Original Jacket Collection presents for the first time, in one essential collection all of Vladimir Horowitz’s recordings from the golden prime of his storied career. The set contains all of the pianist's recordings for RCA Red Seal, Columbia Masterworks and Sony Classical, including 4 discs that feature the first release in any format of two complete live Horowitz recital recordings, from 1951 and 1967. Each recording from the catalogue has been restored to its original LP album format and is presented individually in a sleeve featuring the original album art.
Winner of a near-record 25 Grammy Awards® (most of them for recordings in this collection), Vladimir Horowitz (1903-89) was elected posthumously to the Grammy® Hall of Fame in 1990. "The performances are fabulous...to the end of his career Horowitz's technique was transcendental and his insights remarkable. There is much excitement, but even more that is unforgettably poetic, and not a bar that is predictable...Not to be missed!" - The Penguin Guide (Review of the earlier releases of these recordings.) |
