| Two fiddles, a squeezebox and a guitar, that's how you would describe the typical line-up of a Schrammel ensemble. Vienna and her dialect, Vienna and her music - those are the two love affairs which so characterize the town. Slavonic, Czech, Jewish, French and many, many more influences define the unmistakable sound of Vienna. Dialect and music merge to resound in the city. This mixture can best be heard in the romantic wineries in the suburbs. Here the waltzes and dances are performed on warm, summer, Sunday mornings in gardens by the Neue Wiener ConcertSchrammeln. Elderly ladies and gentlemen come to these matinees to be taken back to the times of the brilliant Schrammel brothers, the originators of this enchanting instrumental ensemble. To put it simply, this CD presents the true Viennese dialect music; the most beautiful part of Vienna. | |||||
