A unique collection of the COMPLETE operatic works of Mozart, from the facinating teenage works to the profound late masterpieces. Operas known and loved the world over such as "Le nozze di figaro", "Don Giovanni", "Così fan tutte" and "Die Zauberflöte" as well as rare discoveries including "L'oca del Cairo" and "La finta giardiniera".
These award-winning recordings feature a galaxy of great Mozart singers such as Kiri te Kanawa, Frederica von Stade, Janet Baker, Mirella Freni, Edita Gruberova, Edith Mathis, Peter Schreier, Hermann Prey, Thomas Allen and many more.

R E V I E W S:

Die Zauberflöte, K 620
"Davis obviously enjoyed working with the Dresden orchestra, which produces for him, as an ensemble and in detail, its best form. From the Overture, it is clear we shall hear a big, dramatic performance. That is confirmed at numerous places, not least in the scene with the Speaker, which Schreier and Adam, so articulate and concentrated, do better than anyone since Wunderlich and Hotter for Böhm (DG 2709 017). But then throughout Schreier's Tamino seems to me near ideal." -- Gramophone, reviewing Philips 411459

Le nozze di Figaro, K 492
"Davis's tempi generally are beautifully chosen to make their dramatic points. Vocally the cast is exceptionally consistent. It is good to have so ravishingly beautiful a voice as Jessye Noman's for the Countess." -- Penguin Guide, reviewing Philips 422540

Così fan tutte, K 588
"The energy and sparkle of Sir Colin Davis are set against inspired and characterful singing from the three women soloists, with Montserrat Cabballè and Janet Baker proving a winning partnership, each challenging and abetting the other all the time." -- Penguin Guide, reviewing Philips 422542

La clemenza di Tito, K 621
"This Tito sees Yvonne Minton on top form...Popp's Servilia and von Stade's Annio are delightful in each other's company...Throughout it is [Davis's] excitement and admiration for the work which is so palpably transferred to the listener." -- Gramophone, reviewing Philips 420097

La finta semplice, K 51
"Ann Murray has never sung more seductively in Mozart than here as Giacinta, and the characterful Barbara Hendricks is a delight in the central role of Rosina." -- Penguin Guide, reviewing Philips 422528

La finta giardiniera, K 196
"Leopold Hager has a strong vocal team...It is a charming comedy which here, with crisply performed recitatives, is presented with vigour, charm and persuasiveness." -- Penguin Guide, reviewing Philips 422528
