HONOR! A CELEBRATION OF THE AFRICAN AMERICAN
CULTURAL LEGACY, CURATED BY JESSYE NORMAN From March 4th through the 23rd, Carnegie Hall will present a festival which charts the great cultural traditions of African Americans. Through concerts, recitals, lectures, panel discussions and more the festival will celebrate not only classical music but all genres. This is the official companion CD to the festival and was created in direct collaboration with Jessye Norman. CD 1 features timeless recordings of Jessye Norman in opera, song and spirituals. The second CD is devoted to many musical icons—trailblazers who forever changed music and also society. Featuring Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong, Sarah Vaughan, Dee Dee Bridgewater, and many, many others.
