| Every composition on this fine new Gasparo CD was commissioned by and composed for Susan DeJong and Jeffrey Van. Most likely the piece by the most recognizable composer on the CD, Michael Daugherty of Superman fame, is I Loved Lucy. This disc is a sequel to this wonderful duo's first recording on Gasparo Canyon Echoes (GS336) which is also devoted to works commissioned by the Duo. These versatile and talented performers are well known and respected for championing new works. Ms. DeJong has been principal flute of the New Orleans Philharmonic, the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra, and the American Ballet Theatre Orchestra. Jeffrey Van has played with the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra and the Minnesota Orchestra. | |||||
