Hooray for Broadway March 7, 2013 By Christopher FOGG (HAWES, North Yorkshire) See All My Reviews "This 2 CD Set is a must for anyone who loves the "old" Broadway Musicals as stage shows or films of the period. Though not recordings from the period - they nevertheless have the same bounce and authenticity. The performances are brimming over with energy - and your feet inevitably start tapping. It's a wonderfully broad section of the best from the period - as it claims. It's a delight for any enthusiast of the genre - not to be missed. Buy and enjoy !!! Chris Fogg." Report Abuse
A pleasant few hours for those who love show tunes December 1, 2012 By Elliot P. (PALM COAST, FL) See All My Reviews "Having grown up in the forties and recalling my Mom and Aunts humming the songs of Kern, Gershwin, Porter, Berlin, and others makes the current item a particular delight. Most of the melodies are authentically rendered in the rhythms and styles in which the songs were written. Yes, it is a trip down "Memory Lane". However, those who desire an introduction to the Broadway Musical Stage of some years ago this compilation will serve as a wonderful introduction. Moreover, at the price offered, the disc is a fabulous bargain. Enjoy!!!" Report Abuse
